Draven Garrett, MFT
Draven is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who received her B.A. in Psychology from Cal State East Bay and a M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from John F. Kennedy University.
People say that one has to love themselves before being able to love someone else. Draven takes a slightly different approach and believes that one must understand themselves before expecting someone else (a partner, parent, etc.) to understand them. Draven aids clients in understanding their own impulses and behaviors and works with the client to manage them. Clients gain a feeling of empowerment as they learn new ways of expressing themselves and compassion for their behaviors. She encourages individuals and couples to explore their true wants and needs and provides a safe space to express themselves.
Draven believes that we live in a uniquely diverse area which cares a great deal about the ongoing safety and wellbeing of the LBGTQ+ community. She prides herself in being a sex-positive therapist and promotes safe, sane, and consensual avenues of sexual expression.
